The White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to the reports that President Donald Trump plans to use executive actions to dismantle the Department of Education during an interview about Fox Business, Tuesday.

As the president begins to take measures on education, a White House official confirmed to Fox that Trump plans to reassess the future of the Department of Education throughout his presidency.
Last Wednesday, President Donald Trump signed two executive orders on education, one to eliminate the federal funds of the K-12 schools that teach Critical Race Theory (CRT), and another to support school choice.

The Executive Order establishes that any K-12 school that does not comply with the directive to end discrimination will lose all federal funds, citing Title VI of the Civil Rights Law of 1964, which prohibits discrimination over the race, the color and national origin for any activity or program that receives federal funds.
According to Leavitt, closing the Department of Education could be the next one on the Trump agenda.
