A video showing the aftermath of what the owner of a Goa homestay describes as a chaotic stay has gone viral on social media, sparking debates over guest behavior and respect for the property.
The clip, uploaded by the owner of The Golden Perch, a popular Airbnb rental, shows a scene of mess allegedly left by guests after a single night, with unwashed dishes, milk stains and a messy bedroom.
In a detailed caption accompanying the video, the owner expressed his frustration with the experience, stating, “Enough of paradise. After two years of hosting, we finally encountered some problems. When you try hard and someone destroys it, something dies in you. But we have to get back up and focus on making things better.” The post emphasized the desire for guests to show more consideration, noting, “Running an Airbnb is not so easy on the heart.”

The video has started conversations about the respect owed to rental properties, with many viewers rallying behind the homestay owner. Some expressed disbelief at the lack of basic courtesy shown by guests, while others defended them, arguing that cleaning fees typically cover the costs associated with cleaning after a stay.
