Twitch ends 2024 with a new batch of featured streamers | Current Elements

StreamElements today released its State of Streaming: Year in Review report for Twitch in 2024. The report reveals more details about hours watched on the streaming platform in 2024 and also provides more insight into the streamers who topped the charts this year. The chart shows that while Twitch appears to have survived 2024 with a view count roughly similar to 2023, the actual streamers that make up the top list have moved places.

The report reveals that Twitch closes the January-November period with 18.5 billion hours watched, close to its figure of 18.9 billion for 2023. Daily viewing hours for most of the year remained consistently within the range of 52-55 million hours; The first quarter of the year had the highest visits, from 61 million (January) to 57 million (March).

In addition to the hours watched statistics, StreamElements also published the list of the best streamers of 2024, which features several new names. Jynxzi, Caedrel, caseoh_ and Papaplatte joined the roster for the first time. Kai Cenat remained the most popular streamer of the year, just as he was in 2023, and broke Twitch’s all-time subscription record.

Twitch’s own numbers confirm the StreamElements report, and the company reports its 2024 Summary that the Just Watching category grew 9.3% during the year and named Kai Cenat as one of the best streamers of the year.
