Donald Trump has chosen one of the commissioners of the US competition watchdog to replace Lina Khan as its next president.
The president-elect announced Andrew Ferguson as his pick to chair the Federal Trade Commission, describing him in a Truth Social post Tuesday night as having a “proven track record of resisting Big Tech censorship.”
Before being sworn in as FTC commissioner in April of this year, Ferguson had served as Virginia’s attorney general and, before that, as a senior advisor to Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell.
“Andrew will be the most American-first and most pro-innovation FTC chairman in the history of our country,” Trump wrote.
