University of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and his girlfriend, Maddy BarnesThey’ve already survived one of the toughest tests of a relationship: going to rival universities.
Barnes, 21, is currently a student at the University of Oklahoma, while her boyfriend, Ewers, 21, is one of the most recognizable faces in Texas college football.
Despite the distance and deep rivalry between their two schools, Barnes and Ewers have made it work since they went public with their relationship in February 2023.
Barnes and Ewers, both juniors at their respective universities, have big decisions ahead of them, including whether or not Ewers will forego his senior season and declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, or potentially transfer to another school with a quarterback freak. February 2023
Barnes posted the first photo of the couple via Instagram on a trip to see Ewers in Austin, Texas.

Ewers posted a series of photos, including one by the sea with Barnes in Delray Beach, Florida.
“This is how we do it,” Ewers he captioned the photos.
Barnes also posted a series of images from the trip, including one of the couple snuggling in front of a hotel mirror.
September 2023
Barnes was present for the Texas Longhorns’ season opener against Rice University.
She posted a photo hugging Ewers as he entered the stadium for the game.
March 2024
The couple took another sunny vacation together, this time to the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Barnes shared a photo carousel of the trip, which included one of her perched on Ewer’s shoulders as the couple posed on the beach.

Ewers and Barnes took the Big Apple by force.

In the middle of football season, Barnes visited Ewers at practice.
“Keep the weekends coming!! 👏🏼👏🏼,” Barnes captioned. a series of photosincluding one of Texas’ practice facilities.
The images were released on Oct. 13, the day after Ewers and the Longhorns defeated Barnes’ Oklahoma Sooners 34-3 in the game known as the Red River Rivalry.
In another photo, a smiling Barnes is seen posing with Ewers outside the Cotton Bowl in Dallas after the big win.
