Henry Cavill fans probably know the actor better for his role as Superman in Zack Snyder or Geralt of Rivia’s DC films in the adaptation of Netflix video games “The Witcher” (or, potentially, as a mustache villain in “Mission: Impossible – Fallout”). Unless you are a fan of history, you could I do not know that Cavill played a fundamental support role in the historical drama “The Tudors”, which was broadcast in Showtime from 2007 to 2010. Specifically, he played Charles Brandon, the first Duke of Suffolk and an important player on the Tudor court.
For those not initiated, “The Tudors” focuses on the ascent, reign and fall of King Henry VIII (played in this series by Jonathan Rhys-Meyers), one of the most notorious kings in England, and one of my “favorite” historical figures. Personally, I find that Henry himself is hateful; He was a spoiled, corpulent and vindictive man of orange hair with lower complaints and even more silly reactions that were ever supposed to be king, but was forced to the position after his older brother Arthur Tudor died (leaving his wife, Catherine of Aragon of Spain, available to marry the new King Henry). That said, me love Henry’s wives equally.
Henry had very famous wives, and there is even a rhyme to monitor them and their destinations: “divorced, beheaded, dead, divorced, beheaded, survived.” Aunque esta es una forma diminuta y despectiva de referirse a las muchas esposas que Henry menospreció, brutalizó e incluso mató en algunos casos, específicamente, Catherine, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard y Catherine Parr, interpretaron en “The Tudors” de Maria Doyle Kennedy, Natalie Dormer, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anita, Anitegelle, Anita, Anita, Anitans, Anitans, Anita, Anitans, Anita, Anita, Anitans. Joss Stone, Tamzin Merchant and Joly Richardson, respectively, is understood.
That is a lot of context, so how does Charles Brandon fit in Henry’s life and several marriages? It turns out to be the King’s best friend, even though he enrages Henry marrying a woman who loves (who Simply pass be Henry’s sister). Let me explain more.
