Tangled has just been officially added to the list of live-action Disney princess adaptations, following the upcoming snow White and last year The Little Mermaid. While there is no release date yet, the hollywood reporter announced that Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman) has been chosen to direct the film.
The report confirmed that Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the writer behind the upcoming Sony project I know what you did last summer sequel reboot, has written the latest draft of the script for Disney’s live-action film. Tangledan adaptation of his 2010 animated hit.
There is no casting for Gracey Tangled has not yet been announced, although rumors emerged earlier this year that Mean Girls: The Musical The notable Avantika was in the running to lead the film as Rapunzel. The talk inspired some very racist talk against the Indian-American actress.—even though her version of Karen Shetty was a fan favorite in the musical adaptation of Lindsay Lohan’s 2004 teen movie (check out her performance of “Sexy” below). Flynn Rider hasn’t been cast yet either, but we’re glad that Zachary Levi’s Disney Prince’s days are numbered.
