Paul Scholes says that Manchester United needs to sign at least five players “with a bit of quality” or face the possibility of rewarding the Premier League next season.
United is 13 at the table today, but with the new boss Ruben Amorim causing little impression and the team full of players is not good enough for the rigors of the highest category of England, Scholes believes that a summer review is required.
The Red Devils strongly spent last summer, but only Leny Yoro can be considered a decent signing, and the jury remains on it due to injuries, with people like Joshua Zirkzee and Matthijs of Ligt who struggles to reach the qualification.

And Scholes fears another repetition in 2025 could bring disastrous consequences.
The former United and England midfielder told the debate of the superposition fans: “There are some things that are worrisome. There are many things that he (Amorim) needs to do, we all know, especially in the transfer windows, but I do not see a core of players.
“When you look at the teams, you look through the backbone of a team. Liverpool: Great goalkeeper, great central half, front, midfielders, whatever. I don’t think United has anything like that in any position.
“I think a new goalkeeper is needed, possibly two central halves, two players in the center of the field and two central strikers.
“Very good, I will go for a central midfielder and a center forward, but with a little stature, a little quality, and will really create a spine. When you have that correct spine, you can add bits.
“That spine, that nucleus, is very important. If they do not do it well this summer, this may sound ridiculous, but the form since this manager has entered, they could be looking at the descent. I tell you that it has been so bad. “
United has won only three of its last 11 league games, but it was reduced to the fifth round of the FA Cup on Friday night thanks to the late head of Harry Maguire against Leicester City.
The draw of last night matched them with Fulham in Old Trafford.
