After years of summer disappointments, summer 2025 will surely happen as one of the best movie summers of the decade. Now that children return to school, it’s time to take stock of how good it was.
If there was a consistent topic that made this summer’s films harvest so observable, it was a dedication to return to the basics. The best films focused on telling simple stories and telling them perfectly.
These were the best films of the Golden Summer of 2025.
1. F1 It was the best summer film 2025
F1 It is beautiful in its simplicity. It tells a direct story about a direct character, and does it perfectly, driven by a fantastic soundtrack, without wasting a single film frame.

The only 2025 summer film that I missed that it could have been a contender for this best classification WeaponA horror movie released at the end of Summer. Most seem to agree that it is fantastic, including GFR’s Diettsch himself. It is almost certain that it belongs to this list as the best horror movie of Summer 2025. I hope to see it soon.
