The alleged stalker ambushed and killed 3 officers of Pennsylvania, says the prosecutor

An alleged stalker armed with a rifle hidden in his ex -girlfriend’s house in the Rolling farm in the southern Pennsylvania and ambushed police officers who came to arrest him, killing three of them, a prosecutor said Thursday

The police who arrived at the scene around 2:10 pm on Wednesday noticed that the door of the house was unlocked despite the fact that the ex -girlfriend and mother had blocked her before leaving the property for her safety.

They opened the door and were immediately fired by the suspect, Matthew James Ruth, 24, who was carrying an AR style rifle with a suppressor, said York County District Tim Barker.

He said the suspect shot multiple rounds to the four officers at the door, killing three of them.

Then there was a shooting between Ruth and two officers outside.

Ruth wounded the deputy of a Sheriff before the police killed to kill the gunman, said Barker.

Sergeant Detective. Cody Becker, detective Mark Baker and detective Isaiah Emenheiser were the officers who were killed, he said. Everyone worked for the Northern York County Regional Police Department.

“Each of these men represented the best of surveillance. They served with professionalism, dedication and courage. They were leaders within our agency, they promised to protect this community and standing with their following officers,” said Chief Dave Lash about the three regional police officers in northern York Slain Northern.

One of the wounded officers also belongs to the department of Northern York. The authorities have not identified the affiliation of the department of the second officer who was hospitalized.

Later, the researchers found that the ex -girlfriend’s dog had been shot dead in the basement.

The woman’s mother called the police on Tuesday

The neighboring departments intervened on Thursday to help assume the workload as personnel of the Agency afflicted.

The violence broke out on Wednesday afternoon when the officers looked for Ruth, who believed he had been on the property last night.

A woman with whom she had gone briefly lived there. His mother called the police on Tuesday night after he saw a man with camouflage looking at the house with binoculars.

The officers also talked to the daughter, who had a photo of a trail chamber that showed someone who had a rifle outside and pointed at a reach to the house, according to a affidavit of the police.

Ruth eluded the police that night, which led them to return the next day with minor orders for their arrest.

The young woman had been burned in August and said she suspected that he could have been involved.

The researchers visited Ruth’s house twice in Hanover, about 16 kilometers from where they were killed to the officers, said neighbor Rose Miller. First they arrived around noon, he said, and then, around 5 in the afternoon, they left around midnight with potential evidence bags.

Miller did not know Ruth well, but he remembered working at Boy Scout Fundaisers.

3 police officers killed in Pennsylvania

Three police officers received a deadly shot and two were injured on Wednesday in southern Pennsylvania, and the shooter was killed by the police, authorities said.

No one responded to the door at home on Thursday.

“We need to do better as a society,” Governor Josh Shapiro said Wednesday night. “We need to help people who think that collecting a weapon, collecting a weapon is the answer to solve disputes.”

It was one of the most mortal days of the state for the police of this century, which coincided with the toll of one day in 2009 when three officers were ambushed by a suspect of domestic violence who wore a bulletproof vest.

Community Lomento

As the news of the tragedy spread, the members of the community held US flags and greeted when the police and emergency vehicles formed a procession for the Forensic Office.

Police departments from all over the region cried on social networks, while people left flowers outside the headquarters of the officers killed.

The confrontation was developed in a rural road in the center-south of Pennsylvania, not far from Maryland. Some 30 police vehicles blocked the roads bordered by a barn, a farm of goats and corn and corn fields.

The area, North Codorus, is about 75 kilometers north of Baltimore.

“It is strange to walk this way now and see all these cars and know what happened here,” Bryan Rice said, who lives nearby and walks the road regularly with his wife. He said he was still staggering on Thursday of the news.

Another officer was killed in York County in February, when a man armed with a gun and Tirolesase entered the intensive care unit of a hospital and took the staff members before a shooting that left the man already a dead officer.
