England reached the final of the 2025 Eurocup in the most dramatic circumstances, since two goals from the last substitutes Michelle Agezang and Chloe Kelly won a 2-1 victory over Italy.
The Lionesses arrived at their third final tournament and will defend their European title on Sunday despite seeming to go home for a long time in Geneva on Tuesday night after Barbara Bonansea’s goal in the first half.
But Agyeang hit the draw in the sixth minute of detention time, before Kelly scored with an extra time of time to play after seeing his saved penalty.
Sarina Wiegman’s team will now face Spain or Germany in the final of Sunday in Basilea.

Italy frustrated the lions
The first opportunity for Las Leonas fell to the front Alessia Russo. Still without a goal in the tournament, the Arsenal striker did well to find some space in the box, but his attack whistled the wrong side of the right post.

The lionesses responded well and could well have matched quickly, but Arquera Laura Giuliani read the background shot of the striker to stop him.
Wiegman’s team began the second half showing more intention and improvements, but once again, they lacked quality in the last third, with Lauren Hemp and she Touone ended disappointingly after being in good positions.
Even so, the threat of Italy remained with Hannah Hampton busy to block a series of shots.
Georgia Stanway and hemp forced more stops in Guiliani, but Azzurre’s cap seemed desperate for not being beaten when time began to accelerate for the European defenders.
Super Sub Strike Again
Not for the first time this tournament, Wiegman turned to the bank to inspire you and that player was, once again, Chloe Kelly.
After avoiding granting another goal at the break, Kelly’s first action was to cut inside and win a corner, with the resulting header of Lucy Bronze blocked, before the same player approached much more to another who toured the goal, but Italy managed to clear.
Aggie Beever-Jones and Michelle Agezang were the following to be introduced when Wiegman chose to take Alessia Russo and Captain Leah Williamson for what seemed like the last run of the dice in the tournament.
But just when it seemed that the super subs were running out of magic, Agyemang was once again in the sixth minute of detention time, hitting home after the Hempo cross did not meet to finally break the resistance of Italy.

Kelly wins it, again
There was very little to inform in extra time, that was until the last three minutes when once again, the supers subs of England appeared once again.
Agyemang, full of trust after his surprising moment, almost scored one of the goals of the tournament with a loop effort that hit the crossbar.
Moments later and with approximately a minute to play, England received a penalty for a lack of Emma Severini about Beth Mead, and went up to another submarine once more.
Kelly, the scorer of the goal that won England the euros in 2022, saw her stained stained kick saved before taking advantage of another sensational victory when her team reached her third successive tournament final.
