The former Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, was fired by the Turkish club Besiktas after they detached from the league of the conference.
Solskjaer took the Istanbul team to an end of the fourth place last season.
But a 1-0 house defeat of the Swiss Lausanian team meant that the club would not play European football this season, and the club dismissed the Norwegian after the game.
Other favorites, including Az Alkmaar, Fiorentina, Rayo Vallecano and Mainz, all sailed while Strasbourg clung to winning in Bondby.
In Istanbul, the English striker Nathan Butler-Yedeji scored the only goal in the added time in the first half, since Lausanne bothered Besiktas.
The local team played the second half with 10 men after defender Felix Uduokhai was expelled in the 46th minute for a foul on Brandon Soppy.
Then, the club issued a statement saying that they had held an emergency meeting.
“Our contract with chief coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been fired as a result of the decision taken during the meeting of the Board. Our President Serdal Adali expressed his gratitude to Solskjaer for his services.”
Solskjaer, former Manchester United Chief, Cardiff City and Mold was hired in January this year and lifted Besiktas del Sixth to fourth place in the Super Lig. His team had won his only league game so far this season.
