Floyd Schofield Sr. says his son, Floyd Jr., will not come to lose against WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson on February 22 in their fight in Riyadh. He says fans will be surprised if they believe in Schofield Jr (18-0, 12 KOs). It is emerging for the sake of it.
Boxing fans believe that Floyd Jr. and his father are talking about this fight only for money. They don’t believe they can win and will be dominated by Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs) on DAZN PPV.
The way they pushed for this fight and ignored promoter Oscar De La Hoya, who said Floyd Jr. needs more experience, makes it seem like it’s all about money. If Schofield Jr. had even one quality win on his resume, fans would believe he really wants to win.
“We are not going to lose. You all bother. We have been against the odds. “I am telling Oscar (De La Hoya) to make the fight and we are going against all odds,” said Floyd Schofield Sr. in social networkstalking about his son’s fight against WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson on February 22.
“We are used to this, to fight against the wall because we have something to fight for. We are breaking generational curses. We are enjoying it. Let’s go out and hit. I hope everyone tunes in for the fight.
“We thank Shakur for the opportunity. Let’s continue to be humble because it is time to grow in our lives. I want to be humble and spread love, but at no time are we going to lose a fight mentally. Come on, they have to be honest about that,” Schofield Sr. said.
It says a lot about Shakur that he selected 22-year-old Schofield Jr. as his opponent instead of selecting much more qualified contenders like Andy Cruz, Edwin De Los Santos, Raymond Muratalla, José ‘Rayo’ Velázquez or Isaac’. Pitbull’ Cruz. Stevenson doesn’t want to lose before he can fight Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. Drafting Floyd Jr. is Shakur’s way of making sure he doesn’t get beat.
“You know who I am now. Everyone can see it on the Internet. I’m going to be a more humble version of myself and a calmer version of myself. The bottom line is that we are going to go out and win. We know we are the underdogs and we love that,” Schofield said.
Floyd Sr. should keep talking because he’s the only one really hyping this fight. Shakur hasn’t done anything on his end to promote the game, and Schofield Jr. is also quiet. He is not a talker.
“So please don’t waste all your money betting on Shakur. Don’t be mad at me. Don’t talk nonsense because you lost your family’s money betting on Shakur. We have to prove what we say and we are going to go out and rock,” said Schofield r.
“The WBC title is at stake and it is new. I tell everyone. Keep sleeping. You will all have a nightmare. Go to sleep, Shakur,” Floyd Sr. said.
Schofield’s only chance to win is to knock out Shakur because he’s not going to win by decision. In fact, you may not even win any rounds. The way Floyd Jr. fought René Téllez Girón in their last fight on November 2, he doesn’t belong in the same ring as Stevenson.
