Russia lavrov meets Kim Jong a North Korea with the war in Fore | Russia-Ukraine War News

North Korean officials have “reaffirmed their support for all objectives” in the Russian-Ukraine War, says Russian FM.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met Kim Jong a North Korea, during which Pyongyang reaffirmed his support for the Russian war in Ukraine in which thousands of soldiers have been killed.

Lavrov “was received” by Kim, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia on Telegram on Saturday, publishing a video of the two men who set their hands and hugged in Wonsan. Russian and North Korean state media had announced the visit before, saying that Lavrov would stay until Sunday.

It is the last of a series of high profile trips by the high officials of Moscow to North Korea as countries deepen military and political ties with an approach to Russia’s offensive in Ukraine.

Pyongyang has become one of Moscow’s main allies during his war of more than three years in Ukraine, sending thousands of conventional troops and weapons to help Kremlin eliminate Kursk’s Ukrainian forces in Russia.

According to British intelligence, more than 6,000 North Korean soldiers have died in the Russian-Ukraine war.

North Korea also agreed to send 6,000 military engineers and builders to help reconstruction efforts there.

The South Korean intelligence service has said that North Korea may be preparing to display additional troops in July or August.

The United States and South Korea have expressed concern that, in return, Kim can look for Russian technology transfers that can improve the threat raised by their military with nuclear weapons.

Earlier on Saturday, Lavrov met with its North Koean counterpart are Hui in Wonsan, a city on the east coast of the country, where a great resort was opened earlier this month.

“We exchanged views on the situation surrounding the Ukrainian crisis … Our Korean friends confirmed their firm support to all the objectives of the special military operation, as well as for the actions of Russian leadership and the armed forces,” said Russian news agency Tass cited Lavrov.

He also thanked the “Heroic” North Korean soldiers, said Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In April, the two countries officially confirmed the deployment of North Korea’s troops to Russia for the first time, saying that these troops had helped Russia recover the Kursk region, a claim disputed by Ukraine.

Since then, Kim has been demonstrated in the state media that pay tribute to the coffins covered with the North Korean soldiers.

The Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Sergei Shoigu, has visited Pyongyang several times this year.

The two very sanctioned nations signed a radical military agreement last November, including a mutual defense clause, during a rare visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to North Korea. According to reports, Pyongyang has been directly assembling Moscow to support his war in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said in his night speech on Friday that the shipments of American weapons to his country had resumed, after the Pentagon’s decision to briefly stop the delivery of certain weapons to kyiv for fears that US reserves were decreasing.

The United States will deliver military supplies and send Keith Kellogg to Kiev to its envoy to kyiv earlier next week, said Zelenskyy.
