Manchester United defender Harry Maguire is reportedly attracting transfer interest at the moment despite the Red Devils also looking to extend his contract.
Despite falling out of favor at Man Utd for a while, Maguire now appears to have rediscovered some of his best form and is playing more often under new manager Ruben Amorim.
The switch to a back three with Amorim appears to have benefited Maguire, so it could make sense for the club to try and retain him despite other clubs apparently also interested.
Man United working to convince England international to join!
According The AthleticUnited are under some time pressure to sort out Maguire’s future, with the 31-year-old having interest from the likes of Napoli, Fenerbahce and Leicester City.
The report claims that new Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who recently left United after a spell as caretaker manager, has a good relationship with Maguire, so there is a chance the two could work together again.
This makes sense too, as one imagines Maguire could be tempted to return to his old club Leicester anyway, after enjoying a great spell there before moving to Old Trafford in 2019.
Another former United manager, Jose Mourinho, is reported to be interested in Maguire, so it will be interesting to see if the England international may be tempted to try a move abroad.
If so, he could also receive an offer from Napoli, who signed his old teammate Scott McTominay a few months ago, with the Scotland international having made a great start in Serie A.
MUFC fans will probably now hope that Maguire ends up staying, but there is no doubt that he has had an up-and-down period at the club in general, so this will be an interesting saga to keep an eye on in the coming weeks. .
