A light touch

Adjusting the image is almost as simple as configuration. I recommend starting with the filmmaker mode, since it offers a good default configuration and disables striking such as movement softer. I made some adjustments, starting with the adaptive brightness on the eye health tab. In SDR mode, I backed a contrast a hint and raised the background light significantly. Do not hesitate to start it in SDR: some modes, such as Standard, have the maximum background light that is revealing, and anything below the midpoint keeps the TV in eco mode. In HDR, the background light is already configured at the highest level as it should be.

For Dolby Vision’s programs and movies, I think most people will appreciate the Splashier Dolby Vision Bright, although you will want to deactivate the movement of movement. Unlike many budgetary televisions (and some premium), QM6K’s Dolby Vision Dolby Vision mode is perfectly usable even with darker content, but it may seem a bit dim and mediocre.

Balanced beauty

Once I blocked the QM6K, I was pleased to discover that it provides one of the most balanced and well -rounded performances that you will find at this level, and even above. The TV is not oriented in its brightness to be sure. TCL claims a 53 percent increase compared to last year, but that still puts the TV below 1,000 nits, while the burning U7n of Hisense pushes well above that brand. The QM6K does not have the same vivid pop as this model, but adds enough blow to illuminate satisfactory HDR reflexes such as sunlight that splashes water, laser explosions and explosions.

The brightness plays an important role in the impact of any television, but the contrast is key and the black levels of QM6K are one of the best I have seen in its class. It cannot match the depths of the Premium QLED TVs with the lights off such as Sony’s Bravia 9 (9/10, Wired recommends), much less OLED televisions, but remains admirably. Even in low lighting, aspects of images such as cardboards or the depths of space are positively oil.
