The layers are not complicated. It is the process of adding and eliminating layers of clothing to keep your body comfortable in changing weather conditions and temperature.

Basic Layers Concepts

The key to the layers is to know what the layers are for and when to add and eliminate them. The general high -level description is seen as follows:

  • Base layer: The layer that touches your skin. These provide some warmth, but it is equally important to put the sweat of their skin. Being wet means being cold.
  • Middle layer: The layer that is, expects, in the middle. This is the layer where you really start isolating or catching body heat. This is the key to the entire system and can be more than one layer (for example, a light fleece and a jacket to Serpla).

Base layers

It has much part of Merino’s benefit (it is usually more than half of Merino) but adds some Nylon to provide additional force and durability, as well as drying times. The latter can be important in very humid climates. In my experience, the synthetic base layers do not work so well or in the isolation or elimination of moisture, although they will often dry faster, they last more often they are often cheaper.
