The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 at the Super Bowl Lix to win the franchise their second Lombardi trophy. Previously, the Eagles beat the New England Patriots 41-33 to win the Super Bowl LII in 2018.
This is the second victory of the Super Bowl of Philly in his last three attempts, carrying the general record of the franchise to 2-3 in the great game. It also serves as revenge for the 38-35 victory of Kansas City in the Super Bowl LVII in 2023.
The Field Marshal of the Eagles, Jalen Hurts, was appointed MVP. He had three total touchdowns and 293 total yards in the game.
The defense of Philadelphia was remarkable. The unit forced three ball losses, recorded a pick-seis and fired Patrick Mahomes six times.
Facing a 4th and 2 in the center of the field in the openness impulse of the game, Jalen Hurts completed a pass to the open receiver AJ Brown, but Brown was penalized by interference of offensive passes, so Philly ended up spilling the ball.
After a clearing of KC, the second impulse of Philadelphia extended thanks to an unnecessary roughness penalty of something questionable about the defensive defense of the Chiefs, Trent McDuffie. After a 27-yard pass for Jahan Dotson, the Eagles executed a push of a Yeard to take a 7-0 advantage. That marked Dotson’s first capture from the first quarter of the Commodines Round.

The open receiver Devonta Smith made a great play in a third and 8 to keep alive another driving of philadelphia. Kansas City forced a third stop, but a penalty out of play annul it, allowing the Eagles to finish the quarter in the territory of the Chiefs ahead 7-0. However, they would not capitalize on, since Jalen Hurts launched a selection that only plays his first INT from week ten.
The bosses hit again after that. KC began the 0/3 game in third Down with three clearings.
A AJ Brown 22 yards reception allowed Eagles to kick a 48-yard field goal, placing them 10-0 with 8:38 for the end in the first half.
It was a disastrous beginning for Patrick Mahomes, who opened the five game for ten with only 24 air yards. He also launched an interception to the rookie corner of the Eagles, Cooper Dejean. That was returned 38 yards for a touchdown to put Philly ahead 17-0. Leave is only the second person in the history of the NFL to score a touchdown on his birthday in a title game.
Immediately after a philadelphia clearance, Mohamses was collected for the second time to establish the eagles in the 14 -yard line of KC. Two plays later, AJ Brown arrived at the score area on a 12-yard crossing route to move forward 24-0 at rest. The part -time advantage of 24 PHilly points was the second largest in the history of the Super Bowl.
KC resigned from the sacks of consecutive plays in his first possession of the second half, which led to the sixth clearance of the Chiefs game. After giving up five captures in his previous two games, Kansas City had delivered five catches in the first 33 minutes of Super Bowl Lix.
In the third quarter, Jalen Hurts began to make things happen with his legs. He collected 30 yards in two races to reach the four -yard line of KC. The Chiefs gathered a goal line stand, and a field goal from the Eagles did it 27-0.
On his own side of the field, Kansas City could not turn a fourth attempt down, allowing Philadelphia to recover possession of the ball in the 46 of the Chiefs. A play later, the Eagles went ahead 33-0 thanks to a 46 yards blow to Devonta Smith.

KC finally reached the board just before the end of the third quarter in a 24 -yard touchdown pass to the rookie receiver Xavier Worthy. They could not turn a two-point attempt, so they could only reduce the philadelphia leadership to 34-6.
Another 40-yard Eagles campaign was limited with a field goal to extend the advantage to 37-6 with less than ten minutes in the game.
The third rotation of Patrick Mahomes of the Super Bowl was a ball of strips in the last quarter, which was recovered by Philadelphia. That was the sixth sack of Mahomes, a maximum of his career for the three times MVP of the Super Bowl.
Philly would only win six yards before Jake Elliott reached his fourth field goal of the game to move forward 40-6. After losing eight field goals during the regular season, Elliott made every field goal he tried in the playoffs.
Kansas City scored two touchdowns and a couple of two-point conversions to end the score in 40-22.
With this victory, the Eagles prevent Chiefs from becoming the first NFL franchise to win three consecutive Super Bowls. This actually marks the second time that Philadelphia has prevented another team from being three. Coincidentally, the Victory of the Eagles in 2018 over the Patriots was interspersed between two New England Super Bowl championships. If Philadelphia had lost the Super Bowl Lii, the Patriots would have become the first team in the NFL to three mobs after their victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl Liii.
Unfortunately for the Chiefs, they finished the campaign with a record of 17-3. KC only lost two games this season that Patrick Mahomes began: the confrontation of week 11 of the team with the Buffalo Bills and the Super Bowl Lix.
