In what has been the latest development according to Pakistani media reports, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is learned to have drawn up a major development plan for cricket in the country. The board chief will focus on improving T20I cricket.

Mohsin Naqvi will introduce ‘Strike Force’ to improve Pakistan’s T20 side. According to this, the PCB will shortlist 50 young hard-hitting batsmen from across the country on merit and the selection of these batsmen will be done by former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq.

The 50 batsmen will be selected and trained to hit long sixes and fours in Strike Force.

The 50 batsmen who will be selected will be trained to hit long sixes and fours. The purpose of Strike Force is to inject fresh blood into the Mohammad Rizwan-led side’s T20 squad. Players will be developed and added to the national team within one year of formation.

This will be a big boost for all the young talents in the country who are going unnoticed. Apart from Pakistan Super League, Strike Force will be a massive platform for young talent to showcase their talent and get a chance to represent the nation.

Pakistan had poor outings in T20Is lately

This comes after the Men in Green’s poor performances in the T20Is of late. They faced disappointing losses in the series against the Australia National Cricket Team and the South Africa National Cricket Team as they are building the new team in the shortest format of the game.

The youngsters selected for the team did not show much promise and were unable to get going at all. Their poor effort with the bat was one of the main reasons why they lost the series against the Australian National Cricket Team and the South African National Cricket Team.

Strike Force will be a positive step in the development of Pakistan team in T20Is

Strike Force will be a positive step in the development of the team. This will allow them to have a strong core for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. In the T20 World Cup 2024, the Men in Green struggled to get going and were eliminated from the tournament in the group stage.

PCB also recently announced a leadership change. Mohammad Rizwan was named the new leader of the white-ball cricket team and the wicketkeeper-batsman has done a great job so far as under him the team won the ODI series in Australia and South Africa.

Mohammad Rizwan would like to maintain the same form as a leader in both formats. The keeper-batsman’s first major task will be the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be a home tournament for them, and they will look to defend the title.
