Noida authority officials punished for neglecting elderly couple and forced to stand for 30 minutes

On December 16, Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M ordered a 30-minute standing punishment for residential plot department officials after they neglected an elderly couple who had come to the office seeking of help.

The couple reportedly stood for 50 minutes without being attended to. The incident came to light when CCTV footage showed the elderly couple waiting while officials did not provide the service.

After reviewing the CCTV footage and noticing that the elderly couple had been standing for an additional 15 to 20 minutes without assistance, Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M directed the residential plot department officials to remain standing for 30 minutes as punishment.

A video of the incident, which went viral on social media, showed staff carrying out the punishment. When imposing the sanction, the director general reportedly stated: “Only when you work on your feet will you understand the difficulties that older people face.”
