Aaron Ramsdale has said that working with Eddie Howe was a “great tie” and accredited Newcastle’s manager for “becoming a man a professional footballer” after joining the Magpies in a Southampton season.
The former Arsenal Ramsdale goalkeeper, who worked with Howe at Bournemouth between 2017 and 2020, has signed a “considerable” loan rate with an option to buy, according to The Atlético.
“Upon arriving at the stadium and seeing it empty, it is quite surreal to think that this will be at home in the predictable future,” said the 27 -year -old, calling the competition badge that denotes Newcastle’s rating for the “Niza” Champions League.

“I have always loved playing here at St James’ Park,” Ramsdale told the Newcastle website. “I have not always had the best results, but when fans are supported, it is a place.
“Working with the manager and his coaching staff were again a great attraction for me. They have already had a great influence on my career and the Gaffer made me a man a professional footballer in Bournemouth.
“He really showed me the strings, so the manager and his coaching staff were a great point of sale.”
A Sheffield United youth product, Ramsdale was always present since the Gunners finished second in the Premier League 2022/23 and has five caps in England, joining the squadrons in the Eurocup 2020 and 2024 and the FIFA 2022 Club World Cup.
Ramsdale lost his place to David Raya in 2023/24, joining Southampton for £ 25 million in August 2024 in an agreement until 2029 and suffering his third descent from above on the flight last season.
He made 32 appearances for the Saints, maintaining three clean sheets.
Ramsdale faced Newcastle for the last time in 2022/23, keeping the leaves clean when Arsenal drew 0-0 at home and won 2-0 far away, the latter his last game of the campaign.
The goalkeeper of the team 2022/23 PFA of the year won three and lost four of his eight meetings with Newcastle, granting nine goals and keeping four clean sheets.
Howe has been chasing a goalkeeper all summer, but James Trafford Data was lost, who returned to former Manchester City club this week for an initially 27 million Burnley.
Newcastle chased the 21-year-old last summer and again at the end of May, offering £ 27 million for the International Sub-21 before the Club World Cup in June.
City coincided with that offer and agreed a five -year contract with the option of one more year to sign the player who left them in 2023.
Newcastle has now resorted to Ramsdale, who, according to the reports, Southampton would have preferred to sell, as competition for the first choice goalkeeper, Nick Pope, along with Martin Dubravka, Odysseas Vlachodimos, John Ruddy and Mark Gillespie.
Howe called “exceptional” Ramsdale, saying that he adds “international experience and experience to his team.
“I know what can bring us inside and outside the field, so we hope to welcome the group,” Howe added.
