Netflix released a new video on Instagram on Friday to promote the streamer’s new film, “Back in Action,” starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz. The action film will begin streaming on Netflix on January 17.
The video shows Foxx playing a baby grand piano while yelling “Back in Action,” while Diaz danced while wearing a fabulous strapless pinstripe pantsuit.
The post read: “Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx musically remember their friendship. BACK IN ACTION premieres January 17.”

Diaz and Foxx have worked together before and have been friends for 25 years. They first starred together in the 1999 sports film, “Any Given Sunday” with Al Pacino. The duo also starred together in the remake of “Annie” in 2014.
“People don’t even realize how long we’ve been friends,” Foxx said. “It’s true. Since we were together on ‘Any Given Sunday’, which was in 1999,” Diaz responded.
“And now we’re back to action, honey,” he added.
Foxx began to improvise a song about the Netflix movie, singing, “Back in action, and we’ve been friends, since before Apple started making the iPod, and now they make the iPhone and not the iPod,” he joked.

As Foxx continued to sing about the Netflix movie, he managed to joke about rapper Snoop Dogg and his friendship with lifestyle guru Martha Stewart. Stewart became close friends with the “Gin and Juice” artist after meeting her on her cooking show, “The Martha Stewart Show” in 2008.
Foxx continued playing the piano as Diaz said, “Tell them what else happened, Jamie.” The “Ray” actor sang his response.
“What happened was that Martha Stewart became very addicted to marijuana and became best friends with Snooooooop“Snoop Dogg is well known for his affection for marijuana, and a cloud of smoke appeared on camera as Diaz noted what else had happened since 1999.

The song continued as Diaz recalled that he had made four “Shrek” movies. Diaz played Princess Fiona in the animated films.
“I made four Shrek movies,” he said. “We also did ‘Annie’ together,” Foxx said as Diaz added, “That’s right.”
“And we experienced a lot of things,” Foxx continued. “We live Keyboard Cat, Pizza Rat, NFT, DVD, Corn Kid, Bean Dad, Salt Bae, Left Shark, Pink Sauce, Grimace Shake and ‘The Dress’.”
“Oh yeah, that was white and gold,” Diaz said as Foxx hit a high note and sang, “I thought it was black and gold.” blueuuuuu“.
Diaz continued, “And now we’re back together for another movie and I’m so excited.”
“Yes. Because…” Foxx responded before singing, “We are back in action“

According PEOPLEIn the film, Foxx and Díaz play a married couple who used to work for the Central Intelligence Agency.
After starting a family, the former spies are “dragged back into the world of espionage when their cover is blown.” The trailer features the duo in a fire scene at a gas station.
“It’s okay, you know I love our life,” Diaz’s character Emily said. Foxx’s character Matt responded, “But?”
“Tonight, something clicked,” he added as a scene of the couple fighting with the two men is shown.
“For the first time in a long time, I felt alive again. I felt like a bitch again,” she continued.
The trailer also shows the couple explaining to their children that they are former CIA agents, prompting one of their children to ask, “Like Jason Bourne?”

In April 2023, Foxx was in Atlanta to film scenes for “Back in Action” when he got a headache. He began asking a friend for aspirin before passing out.
Foxx revealed the nature of his health problem in his Netflix special, “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…” and said that he had had a brain hemorrhage that caused a stroke. He was operated on immediately and was unconscious for 20 days. When he woke up he couldn’t walk.
The Oscar winner recovered at a rehabilitation center in Chicago and learned to walk again. He said in his special that comedy helped him heal. “If I can stay funny, I can stay alive.”
