Meta is reportedly adding screens to its Ray-Ban smart glasses

It looks like Meta is getting ready to add screens to its popular line of Ray-Ban smart glasses. . These screens could appear in a future version of the device next year. The likely launch window is the second half of 2025.

For that, Meta has the , which still have several years to go. The same report indicates that the positive response to the Orion glasses likely accelerated development and possibly ensured its commercial launch. It was unclear whether those glasses would remain an internal prototype.

Ray-Ban smart glasses have been a surprise hit for Meta. They look great and work admirably. The current model includes internal speakers, cameras, microphones and access to Meta’s virtual assistant.

I quite enjoy the simplicity of the current design, especially when taking photos and videos. My hope is that the screens don’t hinder that simplicity and that they don’t come at the expense of, say, improvements to the camera system.

After all, Ray-Ban Meta glasses are the perfect device for taking quick photos of a pet. Have you ever tried to get an animal to stay still so you can take your phone out of a bag and take a photo? Those damn beauties never do. Ray-Bans solve that problem.
