The real estate tycoon Mauricio Umansky says that California needs to work with the federal government to help angels to rebuild.
The real estate tycoon Mauricio Umansky said that officials in California need to work with the federal government to help people in areas devastated by forest fires to rebuild, and that this is not time to fight with President Trump.
“This is the time to put aside politics and rebuild Los Angeles,” Umansky told Fox Business. “This is not the time for our state government to be political and … it begins to be against Trump.”
Umansky’s luxury real estate company, the agency, represents a portfolio of houses and properties for sale worldwide. However, many of its clients are within the areas most affected by forest fires that were lit earlier this month throughout Los Angeles County.
Trump wants to fix the housing affordability crisis: what will be needed
Umansky said the situation is serious for families that have lost everything.
His agents, some of whom have lost their own houses, have been working 24 hours a day to find everyone to go. But it has been far from easy.
“One of the most difficult things is that there are 10 applicants for each house, so nine are rejected,” he said. “When you think about that, and all of these are people who lost their homes, then … their depression is madness.”

Umansky said people are moving around the city and that many of them want to stay close to home. However, there are a lot of others who go north or leave the State.
“We have displaced thousands and thousands of people. And so it will be very difficult,” he said.
Umansky said that it is still too early to understand how things will see about how people will rebuild, but knows that governments in the state and federal levels will have to work together to do so.
“We are looking for answers. I don’t think the government has done a good alert job to people in terms of how things will look,” he added that residents are still struggling to understand how they will get insurance.
Firefighters have been fighting the destructive Surf of California for weeks, and more continue to light.
They need to put aside their egos, politics aside, “he said.” We will need federal money. We will need state money.
He Hughes Fire, which was first reported on Wednesday morning, it was located in the unbalanced community of Castaic in the northwest of Los Angeles County. It spread rapidly due to aggressive winds that have affected fire extinguishing efforts.

Since forest fires began on January 7, the governor of California, Gavin Newsom and Trump, have disagree. Newsom has faced strong criticism for the state’s response to Los Angeles fires. The governor of California hugged Trump at Tarmac International Airport in Los Angeles on Friday after the president left Air Force One.

Newsom has also denounced Trump’s criticism, telling “Meet The Press” of NBC News earlier this month that “misinformation and misinformation does not help us any of us.” Meanwhile, Trump, a critic for a long time from the California government, recently lashed out, coming as far as suggesting that California might not receive federal help unless certain policies change, including his water management.

While Newsom signed an aid package that provides $ 2.5 billion for recovery efforts as the fires continue to sweep parts of the southern California, Umansky said that “there is no doubt”, that the State will also need federal assistance.
“They need to put aside their egos, on one side politics,” he said. “We will need federal money. We will need state money.”
The state should not fight Trump, he said.
“When I say not to fight him, I mean … He will have ideas. We will need the help of the federal government. As, there is no doubt about that,” he said.
