Matheus Cunha has described that he received the legendary T -shirt number 10 from Manchester United as a “privilege” after his great money movement to Old Trafford.
The Brazilian midfielder, who joined United of Wolves last month in an agreement of £ 62.5 million, received his new shirt after linking with the team for preseason training this week.
He has taken the iconic number of Marcus Rashford, who is also back in Carrington, but seems destined to get away from Manchester this summer.
Rashford had a fall with chief coach Ruben Amorim during the 2024-25 season, and was sent on loan to Aston Villa.
It seems incredibly difficult for the England International to make his return to the club he grew up, hence Cunha received his shirt.
In statements to the official website of the club, the 26 -year -old shared his enthusiasm and appreciation for receiving one of the most prestigious numbers in football.
“Yes, Wow! It’s something you always dream of,” said Cunha.

“I can mention many players who use this shirt. It is very easy for me. Of course, I think that I always think about this number in this shirt for me was Wayne Rooney.
“It was someone who grew up to see and I have (VI) many games now. Then I changed shirts with Marcus (Rashford, after a game) too. I have his shirt in my house. But, of course, we know that many players used this shirt: Van Nistelrooy, Ibrahimovic,” he added.
“It is the dream not only to use the shirt, but with all the story they have around the number, it is something beautiful that I have the privilege of doing.”
Cunha is no stranger to the number, having used it in Wolves during his most prolific season to date, where he scored 15 goals from the Premier League. However, he acknowledged that using it at Manchester United entails a new level of expectation.
“This is the most important thing,” he said.
“I do not know, with each number, it will be a pleasure to use the shirt. But yes, with this it is something different. So, of course, the responsibility is approaching and I hope to do everything as objectives, assists and help the team. So this is a very important point for my position.”
