That left them in front of a two -legged draw against Bayern Munich or 15 times real winners, and it was the Spanish giants who left the hat.
Instead, Bayern faces Celtic, while AC Milan avoided a tie against Juventus, but newcomers to Brest received a complicated draw all French against the improvement of the PSG.
The city was knocked out by Real last season in the quarterfinal stage. The sides attracted 3-3 in the first leg in Madrid and 1-1 in the Etihad, before Real won 4-3 in penalties.
The two -legged ties will be held in the weeks of February 11 and February 18.

If the city progresses, they will play like Atlético de Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen in the 16 round.
Liverpool will play the winners of Brest V PSG or the winners of Monaco V Benfica. Aston Villa will face those who win Sporting V Borussia Dortmund or Club Brugge V Atalanta, and Arsenal will face the winners of Juventus V PSV or the winners of Feyenoord V Ac Milan.
The draw for that 16 will take place in February.
