Manager Miguel Cardoso praised Rayners’ annotation capacity. “His positioning is insurmountable,” he added. “He knows exactly when and where to find space to inflict harm to our opponents.
“He has had a difficult season, with many ups and downs, but he has handled it incredibly well in the National League, the CAF Champions League and now the Club World Cup.
“As a coach, it is a real blessing to have quality players like him in your team. I have a team full of talented players and even those who present less regularly are still very important to us.

“It was not easy in those conditions (hot), but it should not be an excuse either. It is not always easy to find its way in a tournament and we realized that we have to do more.
“I am sure we will demonstrate that in the course of the next two games. We have a point against a Brazilian team that is in full swing. But it was also clear that we have to exercise.
“It’s great that Inter Miami give us the opportunity to train (in its facilities). The weight room and the conditions in the field are good for us to work. We try to make our sessions in the morning because it is very hot very quickly.”
Dortmund’s new Jobe Bellingham left the bank against Fluminense. “First, I was pleased to have played his first game immediately,” Kehl said.
