Lyon has made the former AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca, his new chief coach just one month after leaving San Siro.
Fonseca, 51, has signed a two and a half years contract with Club Ligue 1 and replaces Pierre Sage.
Lyon dismissed Sage earlier this week, but arrived at the last 16 of the Europa League after a 1-1 draw at home with Ludogorets in his final match in the group stage on Thursday.

The club is sixth on the French superior flight after administering only one victory in its last five league games and was eliminated from the French Cup after a defeat by the French Club of Fifth Bourgoin-Jallieu level.
“Olympique Lyonnais is pleased to announce the appointment of Paulo Fonseca as coach of the professional team until June 30, 2027,” Lyon said in a statement.
“This choice, unanimously taken by John Textor and the entire sports management, is part of the desire to give the Olympique Lyonnais a strong ambition, both in the national and European scene.”
Milan fired Fonseca after only six months at work. Lille previously achieved in Ligue 1, guiding them to fourth place last season.
He won the Portuguese Super Cup with Porto in 2013, the Portugal Cup with Braga in 2015-16, as well as the Ukrainian Premier League with Shakhtar three times in a row.
His first game by Lyon will be his trip to Marseille on Sunday.
