Liverpool pays tribute to Diogo Jota
Fans held letters and there was a minute of silence before the start for Jota and Silva, who were killed in a car accident in July.
Liverpool has removed the 20th shirt that Jota used last season and Salah was crying after the final whistle.
“We know that this will be a very emotional occasion, since it is the first league game that we have played since we lost to Diogo and Andre,” wrote the manager Arne Slot in his program notes.
“As I said before, the taxes that have been paid throughout the world of football, and especially within the LFC community, have really been special, and I know that tonight we will join to honor them once more.
