Lamine Yamal Scores But Barcelona held by Rayo Vallecano

Barcelona dropped points in the League for the first time this season, since they were held to a 1-1 draw by Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

Lamine Yamal scored a penalty of 40 minutes to give the Hansi Flick team the advantage that entered the break, but Rayo responded with a goal in 67 minutes since the substitute Fran Pérez to win a draw in Vallecas.

The hosts, which ended eighth in the highest Spanish category the last quarter, had a goal by Isi Palazon attacked with only five remaining minutes, while Flick made goalkeeper Joan García thank after the Barça cap made a series of fine jumps to maintain the score level.

It was an entertaining contest in Madrid, where only a few miles away the previous day, the great rivals of the Catalan club, Real Madrid, came from behind to overcome Mallorca to maintain its perfect start of the season and go to the top of the table.

The result means that Barcelona sits fourth after three games. Marcus Rashford, on a loan from the Manchester United season, started at the bank and appeared during the last half hour.

But England’s international could do little to change the result of the game, while his search for a first goal in the colors of Barça continues.

Flick’s side is the following in action after international break when they receive Valencia on September 13, while Real Madrid travels to Real Sociedad.
