Electronic commerce and food delivery platforms are increasingly experiencing platform rates and other positions as online trade gains traction in India. Companies like Zomato and Swiggy are overcoming the limits, chasing greater profits while additional costs to consumers pass.
But these additional charges are not well with everyone. Several users have resorted to social networks to share their frustration. A Reddit user pointed out Blinkit’s high demand over -demand rate: “I was ordering an article and I saw this rate in the invoice section. While some users criticized these additional rates, others saw them as part of the cost of convenience. “You pay for convenience. Take it or leave it, ”wrote a commentator. For platforms such as Zomato and Swiggy, these rates are crucial to improve their shot rates, the amount they earn at order. With an almost duopoly in the food delivery space of India, both companies have been testing higher platform rates to increase income.
Instintamart of Zomato’s Blinkit and Swiggy also apply equivalent handling charges for fast trade deliveries. These positions, although often contentious, are part of a broader strategy to guarantee profitability in a highly competitive market.
