England National Cricket Team pacer Jofra Archer was left extremely frustrated after a mix-up with bowling all-rounder Brydon Carse in the second T20I of the five-match series against the Indian National Cricket Team.

The horrific mix-up between Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse led to the latter being left without a team at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai on Saturday, January 25.

Brydon Carse plays explosive innings before being run out

The batsmen of the England National Cricket Team once again did not perform well against the bowlers of the Indian National Cricket Team. After a poor show in the first match of the T20I series at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, a better performance was expected from the English batsmen.

However, that did not happen as, once again, only Jos Buttler could do a good job. The England captain led from the front and scored 45 runs off 30 balls.

From the lower order, it was Brydon Carse who showed impressive batting while playing an attacking brand of cricket and produced a quickfire knock of 31 runs. He scored his runs off 17 balls and his innings were filled with 1 four and 3 sixes.

Brydon Carse’s innings ended on an unfortunate note when he was run out following a bizarre mix-up with pacer Jofra Archer. On the first ball of the 17th over, Ravi Bishnoi bowled a shot, which Carse played towards mid-on and took off for a run.

Then, a major miscommunication occurred between the duo and a yes-no-yes-no situation was created. Carse turned and stopped before starting for the second, when Archer sent him back. However, it was too late as a precise shot to the bowler’s side by Dhruv Jurel meant Brydon Carse was run out.

After the wicket, Jofra Archer looked absolutely frustrated and his reaction was caught on camera.

Who were England’s best players in the first T20I?

Despite England’s defeat in the first T20I against India at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, captain Jos Buttler and leading pacer Jofra Archer showed their class and stood out as the visitors’ best players.

Jos Buttler scored a brilliant 68 off 44 deliveries. His innings included eight fours and two sixes, as he single-handedly anchored England’s innings.

Buttler kept the innings together after the Three Lions lost Phil Salt and Ben Duckett early in the innings and played some brilliant shots. However, with little support from the other side, their efforts failed to take England to a grand total.

On the bowling front, Jofra Archer produced an incredible spell, claiming 2/21 in his four overs. He sacked Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession. His pace and variations worried the Indian batsmen, and his spell briefly gave England hope of defending their modest target of 133.

Adil Rashid also contributed a wicket, dismissing the dangerous Abhishek Sharma after his explosive 79 with an error. Apart from Buttler and Archer, no English player managed to put up a fight against the strong Indian team, leading to a poor show from the visitors.
