James Mcavoy hit Toronto Bar, apparently without provocation, while I was in City for Film Fest

Actor James Mcavoy was beaten by a man in a bar in the center of Toronto, apparently without provocation, Monday night.

A source connected to the actor confirmed to CBC News that, as reported for the first time for People magazineA man hit Mcavoy without prior notice while he was escorted out of Charlotte’s room, a bar a few blocks from the headquarters of the Toronto International Film Festival.

It is understood that the actor is fine. The incident was not reported to the Toronto Police.

Charlotte’s room did not immediately respond to CBC News comments.

Tiff did not immediately respond to a comment request.

Mcavoy has appeared in dozens of films, including Atonement, The last king of ScotlandIrvine Welsh’s’s film adaptation Filth And M. Night Shyamalan’s films Split and Glass.

The veteran actor also portrayed Professor Charles Xavier in several entries in the X-Men Film franchise.
