Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to the imitation of Rasmus Hojlund of his famous celebration of ‘Siu’, saying that “it was not an act of disrespect” after the 1-0 house victory of Denmark over Portugal on Thursday.
The Manchester United striker copied the old iconic celebration of the Red Devil after scoring a late winner in Copenhagen in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the League of his nations.
Hojlund insisted that the celebration was not mocking Ronaldo, whom the Danish called his “idol”, and the 40 -year -old man said the incident was not offended.
“For me, it’s not a problem,” said Ronaldo. “I know it was not an act of disrespect. I am intelligent enough to realize that.
“Not only he, around the world, several athletes celebrate me.
“For me, it’s an honor, but I hope I can see my celebration tomorrow (Sunday).”

Before Denmark’s trip to Lisbon during the last eight seconds of Sunday, Hojlund said: “It is (Ronaldo) had a great impact on me and my football career. It may be a bit ambivalent, but scoring against him and Portugal, it is huge.
“I remember that he scored a free kick in 2011 when I went to see the game, and since then I have been a big fan of Cristiano.”
The winners of Portugal and Denmark will face Italy or Germany in the semifinal of the Nations League.
The Germans take a thin advantage of 2-1 back to Dortmund after goals from Tim Kleindienst and Leon Goretzka secured the victory in Milan.
