Israel has agreed the “necessary conditions” to finish a high 60 -day fire in Gaza, said the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
During the high the proposed fire of 60 days, “we will work with all the parties to end the war,” Trump said in a publication about Truth Social, without detailing what are the conditions.
“The Qatar and the Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope … that Hamas takes this treatment, because it will not improve, it will only get worse,” Trump wrote.
Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza after Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 against Israel, in which around 1,200 people died. At least 56,647 have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health of the territory.
It was not clear immediately what would be the conditions for the high fire and if Hamas would accept them.
Trump’s announcement occurs before a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu scheduled for next week, in which the president of the United States said it would be “very firm.”
Trump said Tuesday that he believed that Netanyahu wanted to end the hostilities in Gaza.
“He wants. I can tell you what he wants. I think we will have a deal next week,” Trump added.
It occurs shortly after Israel ordered evacuations in northern Gaza before increasing military action.
In March, a high -fire agreement collapsed when Israel launched new attacks in Gaza. The Israeli army described the action as “preventive attacks … based on the disposition of Hamas to execute terrorist attacks, accumulate strength and re -assemble.”
The previous fire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which began on January 19, was created to have three stages, but failed to pass the first stage.
Stage two included the establishment of a high permanent fire, the return of the remaining living hostages in Gaza in exchange for Palestinians imprisoned in Israel, and the complete withdrawal of the Israeli forces of Gaza.
