The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday, January 25, announced the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year 2024, comprising four Indians. Rohit Sharma, who led India to T20 World Cup 2024 glory last year, has been named captain of the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year.
Apart from Rohit Sharma, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah and young pacer Arsheep Singh made it to the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year 2024. Phil Salt and Travis Head are the only players to have made it to the prestigious England and Australian teams, respectively.

The ICC has selected the hard-hitting West Indies batsman as the wicketkeeper of its 2024 T20I Team of the Year, while Babar Azam and Sikandar Raza are the only players from their countries Pakistan and Zimbabwe to make the cut. Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan completed the T20I Team of the Year 2024.

The ICC said in a statement: “The ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year recognizes the best of the best who impressed the world with their match-winning performances and made 2024 a memorable year in the shortest format.”
