The last entry into the Gundam franchise, GquuuuuxA main line is built around one of the most fascinating premises Gundam The show has had in years. To get there, we are asked to return our minds for 45 years to the original 1979 anime, and in doing so, we are also asked to consider a quite hilarious idea.

What would happen if the antagonistic forces of the original series, the Secessionist Space Colony Zeon, would really win the war against the Earth?
GquuuuuxThe turning point to show this new timeline takes the public to the first episode of the 1979 anime. Beginning It opens with an almost shot for shots, beat for the recreation of the original opening moments of Gundam In itself: after a brief explanation of the outbreak of the “one -year war” between Zeon and the Earth Federation, we follow three mobile costumes of Zeon while infiltrating the colony on side 7, seeking to get Intel that the Federation has been developing a new prototype mobile demand there.
But things immediately differ there: we are told that one of the pilots who was destined to go to the mission is to repair his zaku after suffering damage to an earlier mission, leaving Zeon Pilot Chaz Aznable to take his place. This is what changes everything for GquuuuuxThe timeline: Char identifies the mobile demand of the prototype, the Gundam, makes a bold movement to get out of his own Zaku and steal him during the chaos of Zeon’s arrival next to side, and the rest from there, as they say, is an alternative story.
It is fascinating to see how it develops in Beginning If you are a Gundam Fan, seeing how the first half that the original tells again Gundam It differs from this change and what things do echo in both. But if you are already a fan of the 1979 classic, then you probably know who was destined to go to this mission instead of Char, and why it fails in the original series when the young Amuro Ray is like the one in the Gundam cabin to fight the attackers of Zeon. A man who is only known as Gen.
In the first episode of the original GundamGene is a kind of mass asshole. Despite being in a mission of recognition of stealth, he is loud and shameless, not only in his own offer, but in that of his superior officer, Char Aznable, at this point in the conflict a decorated war hero. AND that It is what makes this absolutely hilarious, but also completely fascinating at the same time. Because in the original program, Char is not really the handsome war hero he generated desperately to emulate. He is a superior pilot, yes, but he is far from the image of a warrior stunned in the front fights: he plans, traces, delights in deception and subterfuge. The war hero is a mask that Char uses as easily as his legendary helmet, always thinking of two steps ahead while processing his own agenda against the Zeon ruling Zabi family. Char does not care about war effort: he cares to betray and destroy the Zabis, and will take the opportunity to become his son of military posters to do exactly that.
It remains the same in GquuuuuxThe character’s vision too. Even with access to Gundam, Char is still playing the war for his own game, plotting his revenge against the Zabis all the time he is using Gundam to win the war for them. Demons, even the way he decides to take the Gundam is not in the heroically combative way he generated, he could have assumed him: he sees an opportunity while the inoperative of Gundam, emerges in a distraction and furtively jumps from his own suit to run over and remove the back of a transport vehicle. That It is who is Char, regardless of whether or not the man we met in the 1979 anime, or his version that we can now see in GquuuuuxThe alternative timeline. All this is done in the layers of intrigue and deception of Char that is believed by those around him, whether he successfully eradicate the majority of the zabis at the expense of losing the war in the original show, or this new vision of the reality that we now have in Gquuuuux. Is what he does Beginning Such a delicious pleasure to see how it develops as a fan of the series for a long time. It is made with a clear love and respect for what the original program did as a pioneer of the genre Mecha in the anime, and a great understanding of what did so convincing four and a half decades ago in the first place. A respect that is enough to make such an absurd gesture in the first place, but it also has to be more than a simple emulation and tribute to what came before.
If that is something that Gquuuuux It can be kept in its nucleus as the story advances in the television anime in general, Gundam Fans will be in a pleasure.
