Pep Guardiola and Ruben Amorim were in opposite moods in their post-match press conferences following Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City.
The Premier League champions had a 1-0 lead heading into the final five minutes of the match but were defeated by the brilliance of Amad Diallo.
Diallo earned his team a penalty after taking advantage of a loose back pass from Matheus Nunes, which Bruno Fernandes scored, before scoring the winning goal a few minutes later.
Guardiola was left dejected at the end of the match, as his team had only won one of their last 11 games.
He said: “This year, unfortunately, it happens a lot. We give away many things.
“We are not nice in the way we play. Before it was so fluid, now we are fighting for different reasons. Many defeats.
“I’m the boss, I’m the manager, and I’m not good enough.”

“We gave everything and the game was almost closed. They had more possession in the first half but nothing special. We gave away two goals, very difficult.
“It is what it is. What can I say? We can’t blame this or that player, that’s not it. It’s the season, a tough season.
“We didn’t play the best we could. We are not the best and we struggle a little. Now we don’t play during the week.
“Before we didn’t lose that many in two seasons. Now we have done it in eight games. You have to defend. We have lost many games. It’s difficult. We have to move forward and try to find the solution and try to win games.
“I think that in nine years it was not the hardest defeat. Champions League defeats are tougher. But for now, we need results that will lift our spirits. It’s getting worse and worse. I have to find the solution. Until now I haven’t found it and this is the truth.”
“It’s not a disciplinary issue, it’s something we have to do to improve our standards.”

Meanwhile, it was jubilation for Amorim, who has now beaten City as United and Sporting manager this season.
He could be seen with his head in his hands during moments of the game, but everything will be forgotten for now as he celebrates the victory.
He said: “Three points. We have a lot to do but huge for our fans. But I see the same game until 85 minutes.
“Maybe our conversation would be very different without the goals, but the performance was the same. They were in the game for 90 minutes. We didn’t control the result at all times, but I think we deserved it. Good day to us.
“It feels like we were close to scoring. We improved our speed in our races and had opportunities. We controlled City’s attack and in the end we believed it. We wanted it more when we scored the first goal. Congratulations to the boys.
“It’s really important, but when this game ended I remembered a week ago in the storm. We were losing 3-1 at home to Nottingham and I save that feeling for these days so as not to get carried away. “We really needed the three points.”
