Pep Guardiola says that Manchester City has a “probability of one percent” to cancel its 3-2 deficit against Real Madrid and advance to the last 16 of the Champions League.
City led 2-1 late at the Etihad stadium last week, but the goals of Brahim Díaz and Jude Bellingham saw the European champions return a blow to claim an advantage in the second leg of their elimination phase playoff at Santiago Bernabéu Wednesday night.

Even the best version of the city of Guardiola would have difficulty passing, no matter the 2024-25 team that has been disappointed during much of the season.
Guardiola said: “The margin of winning in Bernabéu in that position (3-2 below), everyone knows that if you ask before the game, the percentage to pass, I do not know, we reach one percent, or I do not know what.
“It will be minimal, but as much as you have a chance, we will try, that’s safe, you know? The possibility is lower because the result was not good, five minutes ago, with 2-1, it would be different.
“But with 2-3, the opportunity is less, but no matter how much you have a chance, we will take it and see what happens.”
City, at least, will travel to Spain to the back of a victory that increased morality after hitting the premiere companions in the first four applicants for Newcastle 4-0 on Saturday.
But Guardiola accepts that it has been a poor season for its high standards.
“There are many, many games that do not play the level we played, and in the end we lost it,” Guardiola said.
“And that were not just the three points, this is how our minds are affecting the next game.
“It happened many times. This season, the reality is that we have been to Miles, at miles away. “
