Foundation demands RFK Jr. Answer at MiFepristone Safety Rollback

First in Fox—He Restoration of the América Foundation (ROAF) asks the Senate Finance Committee to hold the Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to the Audience on Thursday, demanding responses on the elimination of security protocols for the abortive pill Mifepristone.

In a letter provided exclusively to Fox News Digital, Roaf argues that reversal leaves the most vulnerable women and changes taxpayers.

“The elimination of the key risk assessment requirements and mitigation strategy (REMS) for Mifepristona has eliminated the essential safeguards that protected women’s health for more than two decades,” said Doug Tuax, founder and CEO of the restoration of the América Foundation. “We urge the Senate to demand clear answers on why these security protocols were eliminated and when they will be reinstated.”

Food and medication administration originally required that Mifepristone be dispensed in person to ensure that women were examined by possible complications such as ectopic pregnancy. That changed under the Biden administration, when the prescription of Telesalud and the delivery of orders by mail were allowed for the first time.

Truax warned that “allowing these powerful medications to order online and send by mail without adequate medical detection puts women at serious risk.” He added: “Women deserve to know about potential complications and have immediate access to emergency care if necessary.”

Roaf indicates recent studies and media reports, including a New York Post research Published in April, which found that almost 11 percent of chemical abortions resulted in serious complications such as bleeding, infection or sepsis. That rate is more than 20 times higher than the FDA has previously cited.

The audience in which Kennedy appears appears in the broadest debates about abortion and medical safety under the Trump administration.

The HHS did not immediately respond to the request for comments from Fox News Digital.
