Eberechi Eze will not be involved when Crystal Palace attempt to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to six games against Arsenal on Saturday (17:30 GMT).
Eagles manager Oliver Glasner will rest Eze after suffering a foot injury in Palace’s 3-1 win at Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, although the Austrian expects the England international to return for the trip to Bournemouth on December 26 (3:00 p.m.).
“He took a knock against Brighton,” Glasner explained, adding that Eze “took the next kick” to the injury during Palace’s 3-2 defeat to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday.
“It doesn’t seem serious, but when you have to put on your boots, kick the ball and it’s painful, there’s not as much freedom in terms of movement.”

Eze missed trips to Wolves and Aston Villa, as well as the home game against Fulham, due to a hamstring injury in November.
The 26-year-old has yet to complete 90 minutes in five games since his return, although he set up Jean-Philippe Mateta for the only goal of the game at Ipswich Town on December 3.
“When you always feel pain when you move, you’re thinking too much about it (the injury) and you can’t play the way you can play,” Glasner said.
“We need each player 100%, so it makes sense: we decided to rest him and hope he is available for Bournemouth.
“We need the best Eberechi Eze can be and that is why he has to be fit like all the other players. “I hope Ebere will be available for Bournemouth.”

Palace led Arsenal for 49 minutes thanks to Mateta’s opener, but a Gabriel Jesus hat-trick in the 28th minute after the break made Eddie Nketiah’s late response inconsequential.
“Confidence is when you take the lead, not wait, (but) also go forward and try to score the second,” Glasner said. “We scored the first and then we remained passive.
“Then we were 3-1 down, it seems like the game was over, and suddenly we play much further forward again and score a second.
“Why not always play the same way? Same style, play forward instead of cautiously. But that’s easy to say. I think everyone knows and has great respect for Arsenal who play at the Emirates.
“Sometimes you are confident, but they create so much pressure… you have to survive this pressure.”
