At this point, the style movie “‘Die Hard’ in a” is basically its own genre. John McTiernan’s legendary actionista of John McTiernan generated more imitators than perhaps any film in Hollywood’s history. Many fans of the action know, for example, that “speed” is essentially “dying hard on a bus” and its tracking, “Speed 2: cruise control”, it was supposed to literally was “Die Hard 3” before that his script was rejected in favor of the script “Die Hard With A Vengeance”. “Cliffhanger” is “Die hard” on a mountain, “Air Force One” is “Diest hard” on a plane. Devils, even today we are watching the film reproduced in the form of Netflix “Enroller”, a Christmas action movie that is essentially “Die Hard 2” with Taron Edgerton and Jason Bateman.
While many of these imitators are excellent action films in their own right, the “Die Hard” formula does not always produce such quality. Take “Aftermath”, a new film starring Dylan Sprouse that is basically “Die hard” on a bridge … but bad. The film, by Patrick Lussier, the guy who co -written “Terminator Genisys”, sees Dylan Sprouse the former Dylan Sprous rangers its upset leader who has caught the group on the Tobin Boston bridge.
The film is also starring Mason Gooding, the son of Cuba Gooding Jr. and one of the leaders of the elegant and sweet romantic comedy “Eyes”, which plays the villain in “Aftermath”. Unfortunately, early reactions to the movie are not so positive, but then why worry about themselves like their movie as long as they are transmitting it? That is exactly what happened with “Aftermath”, since Netflix subscribers have sent the latter “Die Hard” imitator directly to the upper part of the list of more viewed movies.
“Aftermath” arrived in Netflix on February 10, 2025 and immediately began to make a race for the lists. According FlixpatrolA site that tracks the figures of the transmission audience on the various platforms, “Aftermat” moved to number two in the United States on February 11 before reaching number one the next day. It is not bad for a film that does not have a single review of critics about Rotten Tomatoes.
But that is not the whole story. “Aftermath” is also improving in a handful of other countries, reaching number one in Australia, Canada, Malta, New Zealand and the United Kingdom on February 12, 2025. What is more, actually debuted in the lists of number one in number one in Australia and New Zealand and it seems that he will occupy the first position in Ireland, where he is in number two at the time of writing this writing.
It remains to be seen if “consequences” will reach the lists of other countries. But regardless of whether we need a new “Die Hard” imitator of transmission just a few weeks after “Equing-on” gave us the 2024 version of “Die Hard 2”, it cannot be denied that this is a small lump of Transmission for the Dylan Sprouse -led alcedator. Unfortunately for Sprouse, his film is not drawing in enough countries to reach the world top 10, but maybe that could change as the week develops.
At the time of writing, there are no review of main criticism for the consequences available in Rotten tomatoes. That is a bad signal in itself, but things get worse if we take a look at the audience reviews. “It’s really bad, as really bad,” writes a spectator, while another labeled the movie “confusing, convoluted, false, ridiculous, poorly acted and lacking investment in central characters.” To be fair, not the opinion of all the members of the audience was as mocking. In fact, there are some three and four stars reviews for “Aftermat” in Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience critic he wrote, “really gives the atmosphere of the 80’s action movie”, while another described the film as a “Great action movie that I recalled many of Die Hard’s series,” although someone else described the film as “visual cancer”, which is a shame.
So, we turn to social networkswhere the audience reactions are also beginning to accumulate. Unfortunately, things are not too good for “consequences” here either, with users who denounce the CGI as “horrible” and offer this idea: “This #Aftermath movie is giving to ASF.” That said, there are some fire emojis to speak in the reactions, so not everyone felt the same. Ultimately, the most important and relevant reaction came from another user Who did the pressing question, “What a twin in this ‘Aftermat’ movie in Netflix?”
Meanwhile, to maintain his number one position, “Aftermath” will have to defend himself against Amy Schumer’s new “Kinte Pregnant” comedy, which surpassed Netflix’s lists before being destroyed by Dylan Sprouse. Schumer is now the number two in the United States, but if more and more people begin to realize that fact that “consequences” is “giving to ASF”, he could recover first place. On the other hand, Cameron Díaz’s first film in 11 years, “Back in Action” is the Netflix movie that refuses to die. After maintaining a place on the lists for three weeks, the film has jumped three spaces to resume number six in the United States, suggesting that it could be doing another career and establishing the final battle between Díaz and that twin.
