Dorival dismissed as a Brazil coach after Argentina Humling, Jorge Jesus, according to reports, the favorite to take charge

Brazil has fired the Dorival Junior coach after his beating at the hands of Argentina in the 2026 World Cup qualification.

And the Brazilian Soccer Confederation (CBF) confirmed its departure in a brief statement on Friday.

He said: “The Brazilian football confederation announces that the Junior Dorival coach will no longer be in charge of the Brazilian national team.

“The Board thanks the professional and wishes to succeed in his continuous career. From now on, the CBF will work to find a replacement.”

The Real Madrid Chief, Carlo Ancelotti, has also been mentioned as a potential candidate. However, Ancelotti distanced himself from those reports at his press conference on Friday.

“My contract is clear, I have nothing more to add,” said Ancelotti.

“I have great affection for the National Team of Brazil, its players and their fans, but I have a contract with Real Madrid.”
