The Singapore Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MTI) said in a statement on Saturday that it expects US companies from China to produce its AI model.

Bloomberg on Friday reported That US officials were investigating whether Deepseek had bought advanced semiconductors from the Nvidia chips manufacturer through third parties in Singapore.
A Nvidia spokesman told CNBC on Monday that the chips used by Depseek were fully compatible with export. Depseek was not immediately available to comment when CNBC contacted.
“We hope that American companies, such as NVIDIA, comply with the export controls of the United States and our national legislation. Our customs agencies and application of the law will continue to work closely with their American counterparts,” MTI said in his statement.
“We have always maintained the rule of law and act decisively and firm against individuals and companies that mock the rules.”

MTI cited Nvidia’s comments in his Saturday statement and said the chips manufacturer said there was no reason to believe that Depseek had obtained any export -controlled product through Singapore.
“Singapore is an international business center. The main US and European companies have significant operations here. Nvidia explained that many of these customers use their commercial entities in Singapore to buy chips for products for the United States and other western countries,” MTI added.
