The members of the restaurant and hospitality industry of Cincinnati issued a statement after a violent fight that went viral on social networks last week.
The statement was signed by 15 owners of multiple establishments, including Skyline Chili, the iconic chain based in Cincinnati.
“As members of the restaurant industry and the hospitality of Cincinnati, we are disconsolate and outraged by the recent violent incident that occurred in our center of the center. The video that circulates since that night is disturbing, and as many in this city, we are asking for responsibility and decisive action.” The declaration read.

“We are a united coalition, diverse in the background, perspective and political beliefs, but we are together to condemn violence in any way. The safety of our guests, team members and neighborhoods is not negotiable. It is a fundamental expectation that we all share.”
The videos of the fight that occurred at the corner of Elm Street and Fourth Street in the early hours of July 26 caused national outrage. In widely circulated images, a mafia is seen attacking two people, and a woman, later identified as Holly, is unconscious in the fray.

On Saturday new images emerged in which a racial insult is heard, but it is not clear who shouts who as violence begins to develop.
The lawyer Brandon Fox, who represents the defendant Jermaine Matthews, told CB Cotton of Fox News that “it was not a black and racist mafia that attacked the people. These were separate fights that were triggered by racial insults that finally poured gasoline into the fire.”
While federal and local authorities are still investigating the situation, four arrests have been made in relation to the fight.

In addition to Matthews, Montianez Merriweather, Dekyra Vernon and Dominique Kittle have also been arrested and face charges.
