Brentford signs Kayode and says that Wissa ‘is not on sale’

Brentford has signed on the defense of Fiorentina Michael Kayode and insists that the striker Yane Wissa will not leave the club this month.

Wissa, 28, recently became the top scorer of the club in the Premier League and has scored 41 goals in total since she arrived from the Lorient in 2021.

He was linked to a transfer to Nottingham Forest earlier this week, but coach Thomas Frank does not see that any transfer is being developed.

He said: “It’s good with all these rumors, I love the transfer window.

“There are many rumors, for me again, he is a Brentford player and in my opinion Wissa is not on sale, it has been our number nine leader, he has been fantastic.

“I don’t see why we should sell it.”

Kayode, 20, is a versatile player who can play as side or at the center of the defense and Frank is happy to have his man.

He added: “We like it a lot, we are very happy to have managed to sign it to give ourselves more depth in the lateral positions. I think it has a lot of talent, a fantastic physical package.

“He has good skills to move on. Very well defensively. Of course, he is young and needs to develop. He has not played much this season, but last one played more or less a full season in Fiorentina. ”
