Yoo Wissa has joined complete training with Brentford and could appear against Crystal Palace this weekend, according to chief coach Keith Andrews.
The 28 -year -old striker, who lost the defeat of the opening day of the bees against Nottingham Forest after requesting to leave the club, has been reintegrated with the team in recent days.
Newcastle United is still interested in Dr Congo International, but its latest approach, an offer of £ 35 million in advance plus 5 million in accessories, was rejected earlier this week, with Brentford maintaining firm its assessment. An earlier proposal had also been rejected worth up to £ 30 million.
Despite the speculation about his future, Andrews insists that he will decide closer to the weekend if Wissa will be involved in Selhurst Park.
“He (Yane Wissa) has been training with the team,” Andrews said.
“In terms of participating this weekend, I will make a decision on the team on Saturday. It has been part of the group this week.”
When asked if the striker will continue to be a Brentford player beyond the summer transfer window, Andrews added: “He is a Brentford player at this time. My posture all the time is that I don’t want him to leave.
“I don’t want to lose a player of that quality and that has not really changed throughout the episode. So I hope it is here in the next 10 or 12 days. That is what I would like.”
Wissa reached the 19 goals of the Premier League last season, which has attracted the attention of the highest division, with Eddie Howe anxious to strengthen her Newcastle team before her campaign of the Champions League.
The tensions between Wissa and Brentford appeared in July when he flew home early from the club’s preseason camp in Portugal, and then threatening not to play or train again if he moved to Tyneside. He also recently removed all the links to the bees from his Instagram account.
