Canada has listed the Bishnoi gang as a terrorist entity, following the calls of conservative politicians and the PND.
The list prohibits Canadians finance or help the group led by Lawrence Bishnoi, the gang leader in India who, according to reports, has coordinated criminal activities of a cell phone inside a prison.
Last year, the RCMP accused India of using the Bishnoi gang to carry out murders and acts of extortion aimed at Canadians, particularly those who advocate the creation of a separate SIJ country that will be called Khalistan.
New Delhi has rejected those statements and says he has been working with Ottawa to try to stop the financial flows of the gang to Canada.
The new designation allows the authorities to confiscate the property and freeze accounts, and Ottawa says that this will help fight the crime aimed at prominent members of the Indian diaspora in Canada.
Wesley Wark, the main member of the Center for International Governance Innovation, has previously said that a horror list will probably not deter the gang, since the main problem of Canada is the lack of capacity in the collection of criminal intelligence.
