While San Diego Comic-Con gets most of the national and even international attention, Southern nerds tend to flock to an entirely different fan convention: Dragon Con, the nonstop five-day celebration of all things nerdy. . Sure, it’s full of the usual elements, like panels and vendor rooms, but it all has the drunken, woozy wobble of an endless party. So much so, in fact, that Galactic Battlestar Reboot icons Edward James Olmos and Aaron Douglas were inspired to tell a room full of fans how the latter actor accidentally exposed his penis to a type of sound in a particularly obscene mistake.
This Galactic Battlestar The blooper story began with a basic explanation of how actors had to have microphones attached to their costumes so their dialogue could be heard. Typically, a cable was looped through part of an actor’s clothing and connected to a power source in an inconspicuous location. For example, on an actor’s boots for a scene where the boots will not be visible. None of this would have been a problem for the poor sound technician if Douglas didn’t have a curious tendency to act commando on set.
Douglas began his part of this story by saying that a popular question he gets asked by fans at conventions is whether he wears boxers or briefs, to which he cheerfully answers “neither.” However, this strange admission quickly became relevant, as the actor described being late to the Galactic Battlestar place; He showed up on the hangar deck wearing his familiar orange jumpsuit, setting the stage for an unintentionally hilarious mistake. He ran the sound cable up his leg and Graham, a particularly tall sound technician, was kneeling on the floor, preparing to connect the power pack to the actor’s boot.
This went on as usual for the entire cast and crew, and Douglas continued chatting with various people while they hooked up the microphone. For reasons he never fully explained, the actor suddenly decided to strike a Superman pose, causing his jumpsuit to fall off. For most actors, this would have been only a little embarrassing, but because this Galactic Battlestar The actor hated wearing underwear, exposing his entire naked body, creating a mistake too spicy to share with fans.
Incredibly, Douglas didn’t realize something had gone wrong until he felt his penis make contact with something, which he described as a “bonk.” Belatedly he had a very disturbing thought: “that shouldn’t have hit something… that shouldn’t have hit something warm and flesh-like.” As the rest of the cast and crew began to focus on what had happened, Douglas looked down and saw poor sound technician Graham, horrified by both his proximity and his recent contact with the actor’s penis.
in it Galactic Battlestar All in all, this was a strange moment that could have been quite traumatic for everyone involved. Luckily, the show’s former Commander delivered the perfect punchline to instantly blow up all the tension in the room. To Douglas’s amusement and horror, Edward James Olmos summed up exactly what had happened in the funniest way possible: “Aaron just cocked the sound guy!”
During the Dragon Con panel, hearing his own punchline delivered by Douglas (complete with a hilarious imitation of the older man’s gruff voice) had Olmos laughing out loud, and he couldn’t resist keeping his fingers just a few inches away. to indicate that the other The actor… um… Viper wasn’t that big. Instead of taking offense, Douglas responded with a joke straight out of Seinfeld: “I was in the pool!” From start to finish, this story demonstrates the strangely fun chemistry between the Galactic Battlestar cast, although this is a mistake so obscene that not even the Lords of Kobol will ever reveal it to you.
