Duran’s alleged rate makes it the second most expensive player that the town has sold, only eclipsed by Manchester City of £ 100 million paid by Jack Grealish in August 2021.
He has scored 12 goals in all competitions in 2024/25 and had appeared in the 26 games of Villa before meeting a suspension of three games for a red card in Newcastle on December 26.
Initially, Duran proved to be a highly effective substitute with goals from the bank in four of his first five games of the Premier League season, acting as an occasional partner and replacement for England Ollie Watkins international.

“If he leaves, it’s because he wants to (doing it),” Emery said after Villa described for the last 16. “I told you last week that I loved him here.
“We are different people, different objectives. The club is working and we have to be intelligent in the market. Our goal here is to keep our structure because we want to maintain the high level, and maybe we have to sell to some players.
“I don’t know exactly until everything is done if Jhon Duran leaves or not, but if he does, it will be good news for us because it is good money.”
